Sheldon Memorial Trust School Visit Bursary

Local schools can apply for support towards visit costs through the Sheldon Memorial Trust bursary scheme. Applications for the 2026–27 academic year have currently closed, but you can find more information on future opportunities on this page. You can learn more about the bursary here.

Workshop Prices

Workshops are additional to attraction admission:

  • £3 per child
  • Teachers attend free
  • Workshop admission includes classroom access at DIG or Barley Hall only.

We recommend booking workshops as early as possible because spaces fill quickly, often more than a term in advance.

How to Book

Choose the elements and contact our reservations team

Decide which attractions, workshops, and extras you want. Let our Reservations team know your preferred dates, group size, pupil ages, and any special needs.

Get in touch with our Reservations team by completing our enquiry form.

Please note: We recommend that teachers book as early as possible, especially if you want to include a workshop in your visit, as DIG workshop spaces often fill more than a term in advance. While we always try to accommodate your group’s needs, your preferred dates may be unavailable during busy times of the year. We ask that enquiries are submitted at least six weeks in advance of your intended visit so we can process your booking efficiently.

2. Reserve extras

Tell us if you need lunch spaces, Souvenir Packs (PDF, 2.4 MB) or a Loan Box for classroom use. You can arrange to pick this up on the day to help support learning in the classroom.

3. Receive a schedule

Our reservations team will offer you a schedule for your day. Please confirm it in writing within three working days to secure your booking. We will then send out a confirmation form and you will be booked onto our system. Please have full contact details for your school/ organisation available.

No payment will be taken at this time unless you wish to pay in advance.

4. Check confirmation paperwork

Review all details carefully and provide any additional information. Return paperwork via email or post to:

  • Email: [email protected]
