Viking Loan Boxes
With the Viking session, your guide will show your class how Viking traders bought and sold goods. Select items to trade, learn how to make smart deals, and hear exciting stories of sea voyages and Viking adventures.
Tudor Loan Boxes
In the Tudor session, a Barley Hall servant will show your class what it was like to work in a busy merchant’s house. Explore household objects and materials used during the Tudor period and learn how they were used in daily life.
How it Works
While the loan box is in your classroom, your class can connect live with a Viking trader or Tudor servant using video call. Together, students will explore the artefacts, making the session hands-on and interactive. You can schedule your live session at the start, middle, or end of the hire period, depending on availability.
New for 2025-26!
For the 2025-26 academic year, a two-week Loan Boxes Live hire with one virtual session costs £85, saving £20. A two-week hire with two virtual sessions costs £160. If you already have a standard Viking or Tudor loan box, you can contact our Reservations team to upgrade to the Loan Boxes Live experience.
